I.M.C.A. OLD TIMERS

This is a letter I received from Joe Graziano, the owner and promoter of Dells Raceway Park.
The track is 1/3 Mile Banked Paved Oval Located At N1070 Smith Road, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965
      He is offering ALL vintage racers the opportunity run our cars on Friday night. But due to time restraints we may have to limit our races on Saturday to 2 different groups. I am hoping to arrange the event so we may run full bodied and open wheeled divisions with Heats and Features for both. As any of you know, WE are the extras at any race show. He has assured me he will give us as much time as he possibly can to get us as much race time as possible. As you will read Joe is supplying Safety, Ambulance, AND Insurance for our "PLAY DAY" on Friday night. If you can get there YOU WILL get to run your car! He wishes to make this and annual event at the track. If you are unfamiliar with the Automotion Show, it is a huge car and street rod show that takes up ALL of the Noah's Ark Parking area. And he offered ALL AUTO MOTION EXHIBITORS free admission to the track on Saturday night. Lets make this a great show and enjoy a owner/promoter who will spend money to have us put on a show for the fans instead of asking us to pay our own way. We just don't get to many opportunities like this.
      I would also like to add that if camping is to crowded at the track I am only 14 miles away and will be letting anyone who wants to camp here stay for free as is another vintage racer 5 miles farther from me. (It is free at the track too!)

Hello All,

2011 marks he beginning of a new era at Dells Raceway Park.  Opening Day has been scheduled to co-incide with Automotion in the Dells, and we are celebrating in style.  We'd like to extend this open invitation to all drivers of Vintage Race Cars to (2) nights of fun at our facility.

Our anticipated schedule of events is as follows:

Friday May 20th, 6PM -10PM:  Open Hot Laps
Any and all drivers of Vintage Style Cars are invited to participate.  DRP will supply insurance, Tow Trucks, Ambulance and Safety Teams.  Each entry will be granted (2) free pit passes with additional passes available for $10 each.  We are exploring the possibility of having a band that evening as well.

Saturday, May 21st
We are working with the Dells Visitors Bureau to try and get a "Vintage Racer" area at the Automotion show.  To reserve a spot, contact Event Co-ordinator Julia Luther at the Visitors Bureau; 608.254.7180, x307.  Tell her you're with the Dells Raceway Park group.

Vintage Racers are welcome to participate in our Opening Day Race Program on Saturday.  Pit Gates open at 1PM, practice and qualifying at 3PM, Burnout contest at 5:30 (for street rods) and race program begins at 6:30.  Same deal as Friday...(2) pit passes per entry.  We're looking at 2 or 3 heats (5-10 laps) and a feature (10-20 laps).  You guys can decide how many laps are appropriate.

Non-racers are welcome to exhibit your car on race night in the Turn 1 area of the grandstands.  All exhibitors at Automotion will be granted complementary admission on race night.

We allow camping on DRP grounds on Friday and Saturday night.  Please note that we have no real camping facilities with the exception of a couple of Porta-Pots.  We only ask to keep it clean and you're welcome to stay.

We are working hard to make this the most memorable Opening Day in recent memory, and we'd love to have you join us!  Hope to see you then!
